Description
3S 10A Lithium Battery Management System (BMS)
The 3S 10A BMS is a lightweight, compact protection module tailored for 3-series (3S) Lithium-ion or Lithium-polymer battery packs (11.1V nominal / 12.6V max). It is specifically engineered for low-to-medium power applications where space is limited and efficient cell management is essential.

Key Functions & Protections
-
Integrated Cell Balancing: Ensures that all three cells in your pack remain at identical voltage levels during the charging cycle. This prevents capacity degradation and ensures the entire pack maintains its rated performance.
-
Compact Safety: Designed to protect against over-voltage, under-voltage, and short circuits, which is critical when dealing with the high energy density of lithium-based cells.
-
Low-Power Efficiency: Optimized for smaller devices, this BMS provides essential protection without the bulk of high-current heat-sinking components found on larger boards.
-
Simplified Wiring: Most versions utilize a “Common Port” architecture, meaning the same terminals are used for both charging and discharging, which is ideal for tight-fitting battery compartments.
Important Installation & Safety Guidelines
-
Correct Wiring Sequence: Always solder your connections in the specific order: 0V (B-), 3.7V (B1), 7.4V (B2), and 11.1V (B+). Plugging the balance cable into the BMS while the circuit is already live is a common error that can immediately short and ruin the board.
-
Charger Requirements: This module requires a dedicated 12.6V (3S) Lithium charger. Do not attempt to charge with a generic 12V DC power supply, as the BMS requires the specific CC/CV charging profile to balance the cells correctly at the end of the charge cycle.
-
Thermal Awareness: Even though it is a low-power BMS, ensure it is not completely sealed in an airtight space if you are operating near the 10A continuous limit, as the components still generate heat during operation.
-
Wire Gauge: Because this is a 10A board, 20AWG to 22AWG wire is generally sufficient for your load connections.
