The DB9 Plastic Cover (commonly known as a D-Sub hood or shell) is a rugged, protective enclosure engineered to house, insulate, and provide strain relief for standard 9-pin D-Sub connectors. Molded from high-impact, flame-retardant ABS plastic, this two-piece split-shell cover wraps securely around internal wiring terminations, shielding sensitive solder cups or crimps from mechanical pulling, dust infiltration, and accidental short-circuits.

Equipped with an adjustable internal strain-relief clamp and matching long thumbscrews, it provides a stable, toolless locking interface for custom serial communication lines and diagnostic cables.
