The 74165 is a high-speed 8-bit parallel-in, serial-out shift register integrated circuit. Its primary function is to convert data from a parallel format into a serial data stream. The device features eight individual parallel data inputs (A through H), which allow an entire byte of data to be loaded into the register simultaneously. This loaded data is then shifted out bit-by-bit through a single serial output pin (
