UNI-T UT515B 10KV Insulation resistance tester
The UNI-T UT515B is a handheld, battery-powered insulation resistance tester capable of generating up to 10 kV for on-site diagnostics and safety verification of high-voltage equipment. Encased in a rugged, double-insulated enclosure, it features a large, backlit LCD that displays real-time insulation resistance, test voltage, leakage current, and elapsed time. Users select one of six output voltage ranges (500 V, 1 kV, 2.5 kV, 5 kV, 10 kV) and fine-tune the output in 10 % increments. During testing, the instrument continuously monitors the applied voltage and automatically discharges the device under test upon completion to prevent residual charge buildup.
A built-in timer supports polarization index (PI) and dielectric absorption ratio (DAR) measurements, while an internal memory stores up to 9999 test records for later analysis. Data can be transferred to a PC via USB, where accompanying software enables further review and reporting. Powered by a 14.8 V, 5200 mAh lithium-ion battery, the UT515B provides approximately 15 minutes of continuous high-voltage output per charge, minimizing downtime in field inspections.
Safety interlocks prevent testing on live circuits, and status indicators alert operators to overvoltage, low battery, or test completion.
